Did you know that as a consumer you have free access to your own credit report one time per year? Log on to www.annualcreditreport.com to access your credit report for free, one time per year. Find out what lenders and credit card companies are looking at regarding YOUR credit.
If you need to contact a credit-reporting agency regarding your credit report, they will usually require that you have a copy of your credit report in hand. Somewhere on the report there will be an ‘access number’ or ‘report number’ that the bureaus will request of you.
- Go to www.annualcreditreport.com
- Get a copy of your credit report from each credit-reporting agency. There are three main agencies, TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax.
- Call or visit each credit bureau directly at:
